The Ultimate Fighter 7- Episode 6 Re-Cap

The Ultimate Fighter 7- Episode 6 Re-Cap
Team Rampage vs. Team Forrest

Rankings so far based on what has been shown in the first five shows:

1. Tim Credeur
2. CB Dollaway
3. Nick Klein
4. Luke Zachrich
5. Gerald Harris
6. Matt Brown
7. Daniel Cramer
8. Jesse Taylor
9. Dante Rivera (previously #3)
10. Amir Sadollah
11. Jeremy May
12. Cale Yarbrough
13. Patrick Schultz

Jeremy May vs. Matt Brown is the first fight that’s going to be up and I’ve got a feeling that Matt Brown is going to destroy Jeremy.

Matt Brown (9-6) vs. Jeremy May (6-5)

R1- May has the height and reach advantage, Brown has the intensity and is 6 years older. Jeremy comes out swinging wildly and then gets nailed by a Matt Brown punch. Brown quickly gets full mount but Jeremy is doing a decent job defending. Brown is going after the arm but gets slammed instead. Jeremy is in a dominate position now but Matt Brown reverses. On their feet and Brown hits some good punches on their feet and is landing some shots now on May. Big knee and then a kick by Brown and this one is over. May put up a better fight then I thought he would and Brown looked a little lost at times. Not sure if Brown won because he’s a good fighter or because Jeremy May just isn’t that good.

Winner: Matt Brown

Team Forrest is up 4-0 on Team Rampage. Forrest picks Luke Zachrich to fight Daniel Cramer. According to my rankings that’s #5 (Zachrich) vs. #8 (Cramer). Should be a good fight. A lot of talk about how Luke was the last guy picked.

Luke Zachrich (7-1) vs. Daniel Cramer (3-0)

R1- Reach and height are relatively equal in this one. Cramer is on him pretty quickly and they clinch up. Cramer is very aggressive but Luke is mixing up with him. Luke hits a nice punch and then they clinch again. They are mixing it up and Luke gets in a couple more shots. Cramer charges at him and gets some light shots. Luke slams him against the cage and they clinch. Luke looks real tired but is winning so far. Cramer with several short punches and Luke responds with a couple. Cramer is in control now as Luke is real tired. Both guys seem to have punched themselves out. Cramer getting the better of Luke here in the second part of the round. Luke takes him down with one minute left. This round was real close and could go either way. I thought Luke won the first part of the round and the last minute and Cramer was in solid control of the middle portion. Lots of action early on and then they just punched themselves out. Whoever can dig down and find their second wind will win this one.

R2- They slug early with Cramer being the aggressor and then Cramer takes him down. Cramer with some short elbows but they don’t look tremendously effective. Luke gives up his back. Cramer now with punches and Luke is barely defending himself. Ref calls it and Cramer gets the win. A good fight but not a particularly impressive win by Cramer as he punched himself out early and if his opponent would have had some cardio then he would have finished Cramer early. This was Team Rampage’s first win.
