The Ultimate Fighter Season 9 Episode 12
This is the last episode of this years’ TUF as we have 3 of the 4 finalists set and the live show is set for this Saturday. Andre Winner will fight Ross Pearson this Saturday and Damarques Johnson will fight the winner of the re-match between James Wilks and Frank Lester.
Hendo visits the house and helps the guys cook a meal. Bisping talks strategy and says that the fight was pretty even on the feet last time but once James took the fight to the floor he controlled. Frank and James get along outside the ring and they show them talking and hanging out and exchanging shirts as souvenirs.
Bisping came over for the last meal with Team UK. Hijinks ensue.
Welterweight Fight- James Wilks (5-2) (UK) vs. Frank Lester (USA) (3-2)
R1- They stood up for most of the first round with Lester looking pretty good and landing a couple of nice shots. James went for a take down and ended up clinching against the cage. Frank broke out and threw some wild punches but James clinched him again. James used his reach to land a couple of jabs at the end of the round. Very close round, could have gone either way. Both corners tell their fighter that they won the round. Frank looks really tired after the first round.
R2- James does a good job this round mixing up punches and kicks and is seizing control of this fight. Lester is throwing some wild shots. Frank’s got some blood coming from his nose. James clearly took this round.
R3- James landed a good right hand and then a knee but still couldn’t get Frank to the mat. James had Frank in a clinch and hit some knees and Frank fell down and the ref stopped the fight.
Winner: James Wilks by TKO (Strikes) R3
After the fight Dana puts Wilks over as the better fighter but also puts Frank over as a tough fighter. Lester ended up fighting 4 times in 34 days on the show.
